Disney, fireworks, and fun… count me in! Next year do yourself a favor, and celebrate the Fourth of July at Disney Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Fourth at the Fort: A Disney Celebration

So what does Disney offer on the fourth that is so special? EVERYTHING! No really, they have literally everything you could possibly think of.

Geocaching

All weekend long they have geocaching! What is geocaching? It’s a large scale hide and seek using GPS coordinates and the Fort has them all over the resort and a special prize goes to the highest collection of codes!

Fourth at the Fort Food Trucks

All that hunting got ya hungry? They have a Food Truck Round-Up for that! As a matter of fact, Fourth at the Fort has a food truck for everyone, even the pickiest of eaters.

Sandwiches

First, the Toasted truck offers grilled sandwiches with a twist. They have the Big Cheese (grilled cheese with 4 different types of cheeses), the 101 (grilled cheese with bacon), the Patty Melt (with 3 cheeses and a beef patty), the Buffalo Chicken (grilled cheese with housemade buffalo cheese, cheddar, and chicken), and the Smokehouse (grilled cheese with bbq pork and Mac & cheese).

This one does not disappoint and don’t forget the tater tots, they are seasoned to perfection!

Hot Dogs

Second..hot Dogs, hot Dogs, who’s got your hot dogs? Joey Fatone does with his Fat One’s food truck.

They have a smorgasbord of hot dogs like The Big Guy (hot dog with bbq pulled pork and slaw), The Angelo (hot dog with whiskey infused bacon onion jam, jalapeño, and aioli), and even The Not Dog (the no meat hot dog).

Try these dogs with Brooklyn Flats (something in between and chip and a fry) and an Italian ice.

Disney Favorites

Next, Disney had to represent with their own food truck, Fort Wilderness Fresh Fixin’s.

This truck offers kid favorites like PB&J Uncrustables, chicken nuggets, and a turkey sandwich that all come along with fresh fruit, a smoothie, and a drink.

Adults can find salads, hot dogs, and corn dog nuggets. This food truck also offers alcohol for some grown fourth fun like wine, moonshine cocktails, and beer.

Mexicana

Last, but certainly not least is my personal new addiction, El Cactus Azul Taqueria Mexicana. If you try this, you will go back for seconds, and thirds, and again on a different day for more. The meat they offer is heavenly, marvelous, extraordinary!

No matter what you choose whether it’s tacos, quesadillas, or the mexfries (fries with nacho cheese, carne asada, pico de Gallo, and queso fresco) you WILL NOT be disappointed, trust me because you need this food in your life.

Year round dining

The Fort also offers it’s permanent dinning choices as well like Crockett’s Tavern, Meadow Snack Bar, and P&J’s Southern Takeout.

Family Fun

First, do some crafts! Stop by the bike barn and make your own patriotic Mickey tie-dye shirts, or even make your own pillowcase or camping bag!

Next, what is a resort stay without the swimming? Make your swim extra special when you join the Red, White, & GLOW Pool Party! Grab your glow stick and light up the night!

Then, do you and the family just want to cuddle up and watch a good movie? Each night you can join the movie under the stars. This Fourth weekend they were showing “Cadet Kelly” and “Raya and the Last Dragon”.

Golf Cart Parade

Want to see a real show of patriotism? Then grab a spot along the road and watch the Golf Cart Extravaganza! There are so many festive, creatively decorated golf carts in the procession!

You can see golf carts with Olaf, Christmas trees, giant inflatable eagles, and of course Mickey, and even Mater and Lightning McQueen showed up.

Then the kids will be running for their share of the candy that is thrown. There is a prize for the best in show golf cart so the competition is fierce!

Fourth at the Fort Beach Bash

After the golf carts, head down to the beach for the 4th of July Beach Bash complete with live DJ, dancing, and games! Everyone is getting down to the best jams in town!

When the sun goes down, let the magic begin because the beach is the best place to view the fireworks!

You get to enjoy the “oohs” and “aahs” of a display that only Disney can offer and to top that off, you get to enjoy the water show at the same time!
