The Southern Food

If you know New Orleans, then you know about Cafe du Monde. Yes, we are talking about beignets… Mickey shaped of course!

beignets

Those of you who are not versed in New Orleans treats, they are a mouthwatering donut of sorts with TONS of powdered sugar! You will go back for more!

jumbalaya

If the beignets weren’t enough of a slice of heaven to satisfy your sweet tooth, they serve up an even sweeter treat! They offer a beignet sundae that is big enough for the family to share and live on a sugar high forever!

gumbo

The sundaes come in three flavors chocolate, strawberry, and caramel. You need to pair it with a traditional coffee Au Lait, which is a chicory coffee mixed half and half with hot milk. YUM!

The Sassagoula also offers traditional Louisiana cuisine like Po’ Boy sandwiches, shrimp n’ grits, gumbo, and jambalaya. You can always end your meal with other sweet treats you find there, like pecan pralines and Mardi Gras King Cake.
